OYBM has been busy this year and we need your support to keep going!
solar-powered-workshopWe held a solar powered media madness workshop this summer near Pinon on Black Mesa where we worked with about 20 youth. We had three teams each produce a short Public Service Announcement. We’ll be posting them online very soon!At the beginning of the summer we worked with Nizhoni Academy students from NAU to build a new fence at our media center. The old fence was blown over when we had strong winds. Now we will be able to plant our small dry-farm garden again next year!

OYBM has also been working closely with Kilani dormitory students for a film program.

fixing-fenceOYBM is an associate producer for an upcoming feature independent film! Klee Benally, an OYBM founding mentor, his now casting for roles! Check it out at: are also happy to announce that the Flagstaff Arts Alliance will be issuing a small award to OYBM with financial support for our work. But we need much more to keep going! We rely on donations, fundraisers, and small grants to provide access to media tools, free workshops, and Indigenous youth empowerment for media justice and literacy!
Please support Indigenous youth media justice by making a tax-deductible donation!
If you know of any larger funding opportunities or grants, please email us regarding them too.

We also need volunteers to help clean our building and fix our roof!
