Hear our Eco FlyerWHAT IS THE OYBM “HEAR OUR ECO” WORKSHOP?
The goal of the OYBM Hear our Eco! Workshop is to empower Indigenous youth to take active roles in examining and communicating about environmental issues as they pertain to culture, communities and homeland.

This is an opportunity for Indigenous youth to create their own short videos exploring environmental issues that impact their communities.
Workshop participants will learn about film production and media justice. The films will be screened throughout their communities, online, at film festivals and on a DVD called, “Hear our Eco!”.
The workshop is free and limited to 30 participants ages 9-25. The workshop will take place throughout the summer of 2010.

WHERE IS THE WORKSHOP?
3 primary workshop sessions will be held in Flagstaff, AZ at the OYBM media center.
These will be one day sessions in June, July and August.
Throughout the summer teams of young people will collaborate to make their own videos.

The OYBM Media Center is located at 1700 N. 2nd St.
 Flagstaff, AZ 86004

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ATTEND?
The workshop is free! Lunch will be provided.
Transportation will not be provided to the workshop sessions. Limited funds will be available for  each team’s travel related to their projects.

WHO CAN APPLY?
The workshop is free and open to Indigenous youth ages 9-25 located in the Southwest.
The workshop will be limited to 30 participants.
You don’t need previous media experience, just a will to learn!
