The workshop is free & open to young Native people ages 12-30. (exceptions made of course!)

The Outta Your Backpack Media Collective creates community ownership of media, recognizing the inherent creative energy of youth, and challenges corporate dominated media.
- The workshop comprises youth coming together with experienced Native media makers to gain skills to produce their own short video, documentary or digital story. During a two to four-day workshop, participants will learn the basics of video production, camera operating and video editing to create a 3 to 5 minute video.

- While the Youth Media Project Workshop is focused on ensuring that youth from Indigenous communities have access to media skills and resources, anyone can apply. You don’t need previous media experience, just a will to learn!
This workshop is also great for advanced media makers!
