WHAT IS THE OUTTA YOUR BACKPACK MEDIA WORKSHOP?

  • The workshop comprises youth coming together with experienced Native media makers to gain skills to produce their own short video, documentary or digital story. During a two to four-day workshop, participants will learn the basics of video production, camera operating and video editing to create a 3 to 5 minute video.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ATTEND?

  • The workshop is free! If you should need housing accommodations, please let us know. Transportation is not provided.

WHO CAN APPLY?

  • While OYBM is focused on ensuring that youth from Indigenous communities have access to media skills and resources, anyone can apply. You don’t need previous media experience, just a will to learn!

HOW DO I APPLY?

  • Either fill out the online application or download, fill out and email the application by the deadline for the workshop. 

Workshop space may be limited. (Applications are made available when workshops are scheduled) 

If you need any special accommodations with this deadline or are planning to send the application by mail, please e-mail us so that we can expect your application or address your needs immediately.  Also please post and forward this application so that as many youth get the chance to apply.
